Is it Possible to use groupby in ODATA. Could someone help please? Entities (and oData read operation as well) don't support group by option. 1. Group received data in a middleware. 2. Create new entity based on the view and you can define grouping on view level but it will be static grouping.

 

We are using groupby and aggregate transformations; however we use only one per query. $apply allows combining multiple transformations to get the desired output. We could adjust the previous query by getting orders only from customers in a particular city.

 

Grouping and aggregation allows us to summarize data for display or analysis. We achieve this by collapsing multiple rows of data into single rows based on some criteria and then computing aggregations like average sum min max count etc. In this page we look at how this feature is implemented in OData client.
